About Me

Brad Schneider is a corporate lawyer with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate commercial law and competition law.

Named by Acritas as a “Star Lawyer”, Brad is known for providing pragmatic and timely legal advice to his clients. During the nomination process Brad was described as “a young, up-and-coming lawyer. He's conscientious and willing to take the time to understand the business. He’s engaging in finding the right answer, willing to do the digging, and provides competent advice, especially around Mergers & Acquisitions and general commercial work”.

Brad regularly provides legal advice to numerous segments of the agribusiness sector, from food, seed and chemical manufacturers, to retailers to farmers. In this regard, he assists agribusiness clients with mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations as well as their day-to-day commercial legal needs (including drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of commercial contracts). He also assists agricultural clients with regulatory compliance matters, including under the Competition Act and the Food and Drugs Act.

Brad also has extensive experience assisting strategic and financial acquirers and sellers with both domestic and international mergers and acquisitions. In respect of his cross border M&A experience, he has advised on transactions throughout the world, including North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia. Brad also advises clients on corporate reorganizations, corporate governance matters and general corporate / commercial matters.

In his competition practice, Brad frequently acts for large regional, national and international clients regarding merger control. In particular, he prepares and files with the Canadian Competition Bureau applications for merger approval under the Competition Act and prepares and files with the Canadian Minister of Industry applications for review pursuant to the Investment Canada Act.
