David Heurtel is Counsel at Fasken. He advises clients in a wide range of issues including Government relations, Public Relations, Environment, Energy, and Climate Change, ESG, CSR and Immigration.
He is Adjunct Professor at Concordia University in the Masters in Public Policy and Public Administration Program. David is a Political Analyst for CJAD 800 AM Montreal and CTV News Montréal. He was a member of the Quebec National Assembly representing the provincial riding of Viau from 2013 to 2018, serving in Quebec’s Liberal government in major roles, as Minister for Sustainable Development, the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change from 2014 to 2017 and as Minister of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusiveness from 2017 to 2018.
Before entering politics, David was CEO of Montreal’s Olympic Park from 2011 to 2013. He is Chairman of the Board of Ali et les Prince.sse.s de la Rue, a stay-in-school Montreal non-profit, and serves on the boards of Justice Pro Bono and Écotech Québec. He is also member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Association for Canadian Studies’ COVID-19 Social Impact Network. David is the author of Journées de Ministre published by VLB éditeur.
